Director of Contextual Education
Full-time Non-Tenure Instructor
The School of Theology and Ministry (STM) at Seattle University invites applications for the position of Director of Contextual Education, with the non-tenure-track rank of Instructor. This faculty 12 month appointment is on a two (or three) multi-year renewable term to commence September 1, 2014. The Director will be responsible for administrative service in all aspects of the Contextual Education program, including student internships associated with Master degree programs in STM, and will work collaboratively with the faculty and with appropriate administrators, students and staff of the School, the University and local community. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching three courses, with opportunities in the areas of pastoral/practical theology, education, leadership, ministry formation, spirituality, counseling, pastoral care skills or Clinical Pastoral Education supervision. Requirements: Ph.D., D.Min. or Ed.D. with specific expertise in practical theology or a closely related field is required; a demonstrated record of excellence as a teacher; and a minimum of five years pastoral experience.
