The Advisory Council of the Religious Education Association was created in 2019 as part of a number of changes intended to make our leadership processes more inclusive and transparent. Members of the Council represent different branches of REA’s governing structure, partner organizations, and the membership at large.
By expanding its shared leadership, the Association benefits from the wisdom and creativity that comes from a diverse group of members who share a strong commitment to religious education and the work of our Association. The leadership they provide through advising the Association’s Board makes possible a more robust and engaged constituency.
The Council meets every year on the final afternoon of the annual meeting. They provide feedback on that year’s meeting, and they make plans for upcoming meetings and the work of the REA more generally.
