Welcome to the Senior Scholars Think Tank
This Think Tank began its life as a work group at the November 2013 REA/APPRE meeting in Boston.
Our most recent meeting was in DC in 2018.
We continue to ponder the paper first presented in 2016:
We still invite you to contribute to this conversation by adding a comment at the end. Here are the minutes of the Pittsburgh 2016 meeting.
Our past discussions:
ATLANTA 2015
In preparation for our meeting in Atlanta in 2015 we asked our Think Tank participants for a one page statement. All senior members of REA were invited to contribute even if unable to attend the November meeting.

CHICAGO 2014
Three links to the three discussion issues – our work March 1- September 15, 2014
- The relationship of religious education as a field to the field of practical theology.
- The future of religious education: in the contexts of our professional organization (REA/APRRE), the denominations, the academy/profession, the congregations, public life.
- The identity of religious educators – past, present and future (This topic allows us to tell our stories of our journeys, our present identity and what we see in the future – perhaps by way of our students)
