RE Tenure-track Position – Villanova University

The Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure-track position in religious and theological education at the rank of assistant professor.

The successful candidate will have expertise in the field of religious/theological education, including outcomes and evidence-based educational practices, curriculum development, and assessment in higher education. He/she also will have competency in pastoral studies or another area of studies that complements the Department’s research and teaching focus on “faith engaging culture.”

The candidate will offer courses for graduate students preparing for teaching careers in higher education and for careers in religious education and pastoral ministry. He/she will also teach the theology and religious studies College core curriculum course and other undergraduate and graduate courses that reflect his/her research expertise.

The person who fills the position should hold a doctorate by the time of the appointment, August 2015. He/she will have a rigorous research agenda and perform service to the Department, College, and the University. Publication, research, teaching, and service records should be commensurate with experience.
