The Academy of Religious Leadership invites REA members to its Annual Gathering in Chicago, April 14-16, 2016 at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile. The meeting will begin on Thursday evening at 8pm (reception) and conclude Saturday at noon. The Steering Team of ARL looks forward to reconnecting with people in April. The presenters include new and long-time members of the ARL.
The theme is Engaging Sacred Texts for Teaching Religious Leadership and will focus on the following questions:
- How do we, as teachers and leaders, engage sacred texts in the teaching and practice of leading?
- How do theological perspectives dictate the ways in which we approach text in the teaching of religious leadership?
- What are the methodological assumptions that we employ in our engagement with sacred texts for leadership formation?
- What are the pedagogical practices or implications for engaging sacred texts for leadership formation?
The agenda will include presentations and responses from scholars and leaders who engage sacred text(s) for the teaching or practice of religious leadership.
ARL has a history of welcoming new members, who are professors, pastors, religious leaders, and masters and doctoral level students.
