With joy and excitement the REA offers congratulations to our long time member and colleague, Mary Young, who has been appointed to direct leadership education at the Association of Theological Schools. From the ATS press release:
Young was selected after a comprehensive national search and will assume her new position on June 1, 2017. She will be responsible for planning and impletmenting leadership education programs for administrators in ATS member schools, including conferences and workshops for chief academic officers, development personnel, chief financial officers, and student personnel administrators, as well as the programs for Women in Leadership and the Committee on Race and Ethnicity.
Young comes to ATS after 23 years in service to Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. Most recently, she served as associate dean, assistant professor of Christian education, and director of the Master of Arts in Christian Education program. Among the courses she has taught have been Philosophy of Education, Education in Context, Technology in the Church, and Faith and Human Development.
