Union Presbyterian Seminary announces a position in Christian Education at the rank of assistant or associate, tenure track.
The person appointed to this position will be based in Richmond and will teach courses on both the Richmond and Charlotte campuses, as well as across all degree programs and platforms, and through in-person, hybrid, and distance formats. The candidate is expected to be a generalist who will offer courses that meet core competency requirements and electives in areas of professional interest. The primary focus in teaching is the preparation of pastors and educators for ministry in diverse congregations and non-parish contexts through engagement with contextual pedagogies and reflective practice. The person will be expected to make significant scholarly contributions to the field through research and writing and participate in appropriate academic guilds. The new faculty member will have academic advising responsibilities and collaborate with departmental colleagues for new course development, program assessment and the ongoing work of the Global Mission Center for Christian Education. The person will serve as a seminary resource to congregations, denominational entities, and Christian education related organizations.
