The Faculty of Theology at Ambrose University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in pastoral theology to begin August 1, 2022.
Qualified applicants are those who can teach broadly in pastoral theology at the seminary level. The successful candidate will have a terminal degree in pastoral theology (Ph.D. or D.Min.) and experience in Christian ministry. The person will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence to equip Christian ministry leaders for service in the church and the world. Applicants should have a research trajectory and recent work experience in a particular field of pastoral theology such as intercultural pastoral leadership, spiritual care (chaplaincy), rural pastoral ministry, ecclesial ethics, creation care, or spiritual formation. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the cultural fluency needed to minister in a Canadian multicultural, post-Christendom context. Administrative experience and demonstrated capacity for online teaching would be an asset. The successful candidate must be able to work in an educational institution sponsored by The Alliance Canada (C&MA) and the Canadian Church of the Nazarene.
We are looking for candidates who are interested in intellectual exchange with faculty in other disciplines and who actively contribute to their own discipline. There may be an occasional requirement to teach at the undergraduate level.
