Meadville Lombard Theological School seeks applications and nominations for an assistant faculty
position in religious education. The tenure-track appointment will begin in Fall 2025. The ideal candidate
demonstrates a deep commitment to interdisciplinary, interfaith, and intersectional approaches in
teaching, scholarship, and leadership, particularly emphasizing liberation and social justice.
Successful applicants will have completed a Ph.D. in religious education or a cognate field by the time of
appointment. Highly preferred candidates will have experience in religious education in faith
communities and have acquired a Master’s level degree in theology or cognate field. The candidate
should be able to teach students who embody diversity across religion, race, gender/sexuality, and
ability; be able to work with colleagues across disciplines; have an interest in interreligious and interfaith
studies; and be capable of facilitating in-person, online, and multiplatform teaching and learning as well
as co-curricular events/programs for clergy, laity, public leaders, and activists across the country.
