The Department of Religion at Cornell College invites applications for a tenure track position in Christianity. Area of Specialization is open, but we would especially welcome applications from scholars who frame their work within the interdisciplinary and global context of the contemporary world, are experienced teachers who can illuminate a variety of religious milieux that might include South Asia, Africa and/or the Americas, and who embody the ideals of the liberal arts in the classroom. Responsibilities include six courses per year, including a broad range of introductory and advanced level courses that span a variety of regions and traditions, all of which will stem from the candidate’s interest and discernment. Courses may also be taught off-campus in domestic or international locations. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D or be an advanced ABD, be an innovative teacher and an active researcher, and possess an independent vision for their work at the college.
