Pastoral Care and Counseling, Boston College

Boston College’s School of Theology and Ministry (STM) seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in Pastoral Care and Counseling. In exceptional cases, a higher level appointment may be considered. This appointment will be within the STM’s Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry (DREPM), to begin Fall 2017.

Candidates should have a PhD in Pastoral Care and Counseling, Psychology of Religion or a closely related field. They should also possess a commitment to theological education for lay and ordained ministry among a diverse student body and a personal knowledge of Catholic polity and pastoral life. Candidates should be prepared to teach general introductory and specialized courses in pastoral care and counseling at the graduate level.
