THE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY:

The School of Theology is comprised of two distinct academic entities: the undergraduate division and Azusa Pacific Seminary.

The undergraduate programs available in the school’s four departments (Biblical Studies, Practical Theology, Philosophy, and Theology) offer courses of study that encourage the search for truth about God, human existence in relationship to God, and the world as God’s creation.

THE DEAN:

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean of the School of Theology serves as the chief academic and financial officer of the School and provides leadership in areas of teaching and curricular development, research, faculty engagement, student development, fiscal management, fund-raising and external affairs.

He or she has overall responsibility for the day to day functions of both the Undergraduate and Seminary Divisions.

SAMPLING OF REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A strong affinity with the Wesleyan tradition.

A history of active church engagement (e.g. pastoring, serving, teaching, leading, advising).

Ten or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a Christian university, or seminary, church-based ministry or para-church group.

An earned doctorate from an accredited college, university, school of theology or seminary, preferably in theology, biblical studies, ministry or related degree.
