McCormick Theological Seminary, a seminary of the Presbyterian Church (USA) with Reformed, ecumenical, cross-cultural, and urban commitments, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning as early as July 1, 2018. We seek a versatile, multifaceted, collaborative, practical theologian to teach primarily in the field of homiletics. The candidate should have a secondary area of expertise.

Candidates should possess a research doctorate; experience in and commitment to Christian ministry that may include ordination; innovative work with urban ministry, non profit organizations, social entrepreneurs, and emergent forms of 21st century ministry; cross-cultural competence, experience, and pedagogy; and facility and experience with hybrid and/or online technology. Strong preference will be given to candidates who can teach in Spanish, have expertise in LatinX hermeneutics, and can engage a diverse community of students and scholars.

A letter of interest, curriculum vitae, detailed descriptions of two proposed courses (one introductory course, the other in an area of specialization), and a writing sample should be sent as an e-mail attachment to Jennifer Ould, Assistant to the President and Dean of the Faculty, at jould [at] mccormick [dot] edu.

The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications on January 15, 2018.
