The Program Chair-Elect assists the Program Chair and begins preparations for the future program for which they will be responsible, hence sharing the Program Chair’s knowledge of and agenda for the Annual Meeting. The Program Chair-Elect is elected by the REA membership for a two-year term that moves through program chair-elect in year 1 and program chair in year 2. They serve on the Program Planning Committee. If the proposed — and then elected — theme proposal contains a committee of co-chairs, then that committee needs to decide who will come to Steering Committee/Board meetings.
