Roots of Empathy founder and REA Conference speaker Mary Gordon will present June 11 in San Francisco at the TEDxGoldenGateED. The conference is organized around the theme Compassion and Education and includes a diverse field of speakers about what science says about compassion and empathy, and how compassion improves learning. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share ideas worth spreading. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. In September 2010, Ms Gordon was invited to speak about emotional literacy at the United Nations International Literacy Day Symposium in New York. This marked the first time that emotional literacy was included in the celebration. Gordon will speak at the REA Annual Conference, Nov. 5th in Toronto.
