The School of Theology at Lenoir-Rhyne University seeks applications for a full time, 9 month, tenure-track position in Youth and Family Ministry/Christian Education at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning August 2013. Ph.D. is expected by the time of appointment. Responsibilities include teaching religion in the University’s core curriculum as well as teaching courses and supervising internships for students in the “Family Development” and “Outdoor Personal and Religious Development” tracks in the undergraduate Religion major. Ability to teach additional religion courses (e.g. Christian thought or ethics) would be an asset as well. The program is part of the curriculum of a university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; an empathetic understanding of the Christian tradition and a commitment to education that will serve the mission of the church is required.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, scholarly and professional engagement, and campus citizenship.
