ICJS Educator

The Institute for Christian & Jewish Studies has recently expanded the scope of its mission and is now developing educational programs to engage Jews, Christians, and Muslims. In the months to come, the organization will also change its name to reflect this important shift. To fulfill its expanded educational mandate, we are seeking an educator with a commitment to interfaith learning and experience with educational best practices that bring Muslims, Christians, and Jews into searching conversation and sustained study.

The responsibilities of the ICJS Educator will include the following:

Adult Education Programming

  • Develop and conduct adult education programs for Jews, Christians and Muslims; help in the design and development of educational resources, both written and online. Educational Outreach
  • Build relationships with local Muslim communities.
  • Work in conjunction with the Muslim scholar to advance programs for interfaith learning that include Muslim texts and traditions.
  • Work with the ICJS staff scholars to research, design, and develop additional curricular materials for various constituencies in the field of Jewish-Christian, Jewish-Muslim, Muslim-Christian, and Jewish-Christian-Muslim studies. Our constituencies include clergy, religious professionals, educators, scholars, adult learners, and community leaders.

Assessment

  • Develop assessments that will enable the ICJS to evaluate programs and demonstrate effectiveness in achieving its mission.

The Educator will be accountable directly to the Executive Director. The Educator will work collaboratively with the ICJS staff scholars, and will have administrative support.

Preferred candidates will have graduate education in religion and/or education. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with education and experience.
