Catholic Community of Practice

The REA’s Catholic Community of Practice exists to provide Catholic members of the Association a forum for information sharing and collegial support. It meets annually at the REA Annual Meeting and allows online networking through this web page.

The CCOP will meet again on Monday, July 10, 2023 starting at 9:15 pm. Please check the annual meeting schedule for the appropriate room link (you must be a member to log in there).

We have invited Rito Baring from the Phillipines to speak on Environmental Issues and
RE. He will share with the group some insights from a paper he did with another researcher about Filipino youth ecotheology and its relevance to Religious Education. He will also report on the recent RE Conference in the Philippines, “Greening the Faith: Challenges to Religious Education,” which took place June 23-24, 2023.

We invite your ideas and suggestions for additional topics and agenda items for our
gathering on July 10th, and future gatherings.

As time permits, we wanted to invite further feedback on the Synod process and
particularly any feedback to the documents below:

Instrumentum Laboris

The Synod webpage for official resources

The Official Synod documents

And “Enlarge the Space of Your Tent” (Is. 54:2) the beautiful Working Document for the
Continental Stage with graphics.

Looking forward to seeing everyone,

Chuck Chesnavage, and Maureen O’Brien, CCOP Co-Chairs
